Charles Handy

People do not like change when it comes from someone else and they are forced to change things they do not see the point of. The important thing about change is you should feel you own it. If I say I have got to change my life, it sounds very positive. If somebody comes around to me and says I have to change my way of doing things, I get quite upset. Positive change is change that everyone wants. The big mistake organisations make is trying to impose change, because it is quicker. It's much better to take longer and present people with the problem and allow them to see that they have some kind of ownership of the future.
