Bill Green

Consulting has differentiating power, it’s not a commodity business,” says Green. “If you deliver better than average outcomes, you get better than average money. But more than the revenues and profits, it’s the positioning that’s important. Consulting builds long term relationships that lead to other things. Today’s outsourcing assignments were yesterday’s consulting assignments.” He occasionally likes to play down the intellectual stuff that goes into consulting, saying, “You get some people who are so smart, but they can’t tie their own shoes. Of course you need analytic skills in consulting, but you also need common sense, a work ethic and an ability to get along with people.”
